In my painting, City Lights Mirage, I’m striving to push the boundaries of expressionist realism. The desert landscape, with its iconic silhouette against the night sky, inspired me to experiment with non-objective approaches while maintaining a subtle sense of representation. The interplay of saguaro cacti forms creates an abstract pattern, capturing the essence of the desert at dusk. The distant city lights merge with the hues of the nightscape, creating unique, expressive patterns. To breathe life into the canvas, I employed controlled drips and dashes of spray paint, adding dynamic elements to the composition. The deliberate use of color interaction, where certain hues play off one another, creates nuanced details, especially with the broad field of yellow. "City Lights Mirage" is my artistic venture into capturing the mesmerizing dance of light and form in the desert landscape.
